Continue reading →The Principle of the Path by Andy Stanley
I’m not sure why but I had very high expectations for this book. Too high, it turned out.
The story at the beginning showcased Andy Stanley’s superb storytelling ability and drew me in. That part was great.
Continue reading →31 Days of Drawing Near to God by Ruth Myers
In each of the thirty-one devotionals, Ruth Myers both reveals herself and reveals God. She had refreshing authenticity and wisely chose to tell about herself at the very beginning of the book to connect herself to her readers. She succeeded
Continue reading →A Deeper Kind of Calm by Linda Dillow
I enjoyed reading this book very much. I found it to be refreshing, calming and comforting.
Linda Dillow takes the reader on a little journey through four Psalms and pulls out wonderful spiritual “gems” and shares them with the reader. There were quite a few of these hidden “gems” scattered throughout the book in unexpected places. The four Psalms were perfect for her goal of comforting and encouraging her readers.

If you have struggled with gaining and losing weight repeatedly (a “yo-yo dieter”) then you will feel right at home. Michelle does a superb job of making that type of woman feel like she is not alone. Even though this book was published in 2009, I believe it is still very “timely”. I found most of it to be very enlightening. Quite a bit of the information this book contained was new to me, but there was enough in it that I knew to be true beforehand, that made me believe it (as well as the well-documented footnotes).
Continue reading →The God Chasers by Tommy Tenney
I recently pulled this book off my bookshelf and re-read it. It was just as good, just as timely, just as needed, this time around as the first time.
Are you satisfied with past truth or must you have present truth? Are you truly hungry for the presence of God—not just knowing about Him, but truly knowing Him? If so, you may be well on your way to becoming a God chaser. If not, read this book for a passionate invitation to become one.
