All Things For Your Good
All Things For Your Good
God makes all things work together for your good—ALL things. He makes all things work together for your good, yes, ALL things.
Are you a Christian that loves God?
Are you a believer and follower of Jesus Christ? Then this Bible promise is for YOU!
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Ro. 8:28 KJV
God takes everything that comes your way and works it together for your good. If sickness comes your way, God works it together for your good. If job loss or other financial difficulty comes your way, God works it together for your good. If divorce or other relationship problem comes your way, God works it together for your good. No matter the problem, no matter the circumstance, God works all of it for your good.
What is your best good?
What does God call good? Being conformed into the image of His Son—that’s what God calls good—your very best good.
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Ro. 8:29 KJV
I hope you noticed that the verse above was the very next verse after the first one quoted. They go together. How often do we quote the first one without taking into account the second one? It happens quite a lot.
What does our best good feel like?
Being conformed into the image of Jesus does not always feel good to our flesh. In fact, sometimes it feels downright horrible. You might even be wondering if God has forsaken you or what in the world is happening to you.
If you take a moment to think about it, I’m sure you will find that what your spirit wants most of all is assuredly exactly that—to be conformed into the image of His Son.
What is an appropriate response?
We certainly may not like what is happening and we will be tempted to doubt (and along comes some of doubt’s companions like worry, complaining, unthankfulness etc.), but if we believe the Bible promises like we should, then our response is simply to trust.
Trust Him, Who is so worthy of our trust. Trust Him to do the very best for you, even if it doesn’t feel or look like the best right now. Trust Him that it is.
