Author Interview: Dave Moore
Author Interview: Dave Moore
Q1.)When did you first consider yourself a writer?
A1.) I understand that technically writing a book makes you a writer but I really don’t picture myself that way. I have an amazing story that I knew needed to be told and with much help from others and especially God we got it done.
.
Q2.)What inspired you to write your first book?
A2.) Whenever I would tell the story of my sons disappearance and the miraculous answer to prayer, people would almost always begin to cry and tell me that a book should be written and a movie should be made. When I came to a place of no hope in my search for my son I prayed a desperate prayer to God and He answered me. I want everyone to know that there is always hope with God!
.
Q3.)What were your challenges in getting your first book published?
A3.) The publishing itself was not a challenge. The first publisher I submitted it to accepted it. The real challenge was in my ability to finish the book. After getting about a third of the way into the writing I hit the wall and put it in my closet for a year. Then one day I felt a prompting in my spirit and picked it back up. 4 months later I finished writing.
.
Q4.)What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book(s)?
A4.) That when we dedicate our work to God He will help us. It was so amazing the way God brought back memories of even some of the minor details of my search for my son. I would close my eyes and I could see peoples faces. I could remember exact details and time lines. I really believe when we do our best for God and ask Him to do the rest He will always make a way.
.
Q5.)How many books have you written? Which is your favorite and why?
A)5. I have only written the one book. I am considering writing a book on the miracles that I have witnessed since the ones that I talked about in The Father’s Love.
Q6.)Where do you get your ideas or how do you find inspiration?
A6.) The ideas that I have written about and the ones being considered all come from real life experiences. My inspiration comes from God and from my desire to bring glory to Him in some small way for all of the amazing big things that He has done for me. Every joy in my life is because of Him. Every good thing that I have He is responsible for. He gives us life, He sustains us and the world we live in. I love and am loved because of Him. I can never repay Him.
.
Q7.)How do you incorporate God into your writing?
A7.) By telling what He has done. Sometimes it is the large things such as miraculous healing’s and sometimes it might just be the still small voice that nudges us in the right direction.
.
Q8.)What books/authors have influenced your writing?
A8.) I loved the writing of C.Nuzum who wrote “The Life of Faith way back in 1928. It is a powerful testimony of God’s power to heal. Lisa Buffaloe’s faith and love of God has blessed me through her writing, blogs and radio show.
.
Q9.)Do you have an upcoming book?
A9.) I am considering writing a book on miracles. I have been involved with many miraculous healing’s, angel visitations, and other answers to prayer. I like the title “My Eyes Have Seen The Glory!”
.
Q10.)Do you have any advice for other writers?
A10.) Never give up. Write what is in your heart. Do the very best you can and ask God to help you do the rest. Dedicate your work to God and do it for Him!
.
Q11.)Any final thoughts about sharing your writing with my blog readers?
A11.) If there is something you are hoping for or you know someone who needs hope my book “The Father’s Love” will help you to see that there is always hope with God. If you are trying to reach lost loved ones there is no better way than to help them to see that God is real. The bible says in 1 Peter 3:15; “In your hearts set Christ apart as holy and acknowledge Him as Lord. Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you.” My book tells the story of the hope that is in me. My testimony.
You see, I was searching for my son and I found my Father. Not only was my son lost but so was I. I thank God that He never stops searching for us. Glory to God!
