Book Review: When Religion Isn’t Enough by Mary Detweiler
Book Review: When Religion Isn’t Enough by Mary Detweiler
In a lot of ways this book is about the author’s journey out of Catholicism, but at a more fundamental level it is her journey out of religion and into relationship.
You can benefit from Ms. Detweiler’s story. Perhaps she can save you some time, trouble and heartache by getting to a real relationship or a deeper relationship with God sooner.
This book revolves around the author’s story but she extensively adds in scriptures, Bible stories and quotes from other Christian authors.
There is a clear presentation of the gospel, that is, that it is by faith in Jesus alone, nothing added.
If you are confused by what it means to have a relationship with God or wondering if you have one or not this book is for you! Although it best addresses that, it also helps with deepening a relationship that you may already have with God.
