Book Review: Worship Changes Everything by Darlene Zschech
Book Review: Worship Changes Everything by Darlene Zschech
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book by this globally known worship leader. She incorporated authentic personal stories, including parts of her struggle with cancer, Bible stories, inspiring Christian stories and inspiring Christian quotes all woven together to make her points about worship.
Here are some of the summarized points that I got as take-aways and exact quotes that I liked from this book (only the exact quotes are in quotation marks):
We worship because He is worthy. It’s all the reason we need.
Cultivate an attitude of expectation.
True worship does not begin with us and what we offer to God but with God’s mercy.
“Don’t try harder. Just trust more.”
“Don’t just love God. Fall in love with God.”
“Gratitude is when we recognize that everything we have and are comes from the hand of God.”
“Serving is worship.”
“…worship is everything we do and are.”
“Forgiveness [is] the ultimate expression of agape love.”
Worship God by serving others.
Worship God with your thoughts, your words and your money.
Worship God in your work, in your marriage and in your family.
“Worshiping God is aligning our hearts with His heart, our thoughts to His thoughts, our will to His will.”
Prayer is worship.
If you already have a heart for worship this book will give you more fuel for your fire. If God feels far away this book will inspire you to seek after Him. If you are somewhere in between, there is something in here for you, too.
