Honoring President’s Day
Honoring President’s Day
George Washington was born Feb. 22nd, 1732 and died on Dec. 14th, 1799. Abraham Lincoln was born on Feb. 12th, 1809 and died on Apr. 15th, 1865. Even though President’s Day was designed to honor their birthdays I wanted to be sure to include the actual dates of their deaths as the Bible says that , “the day of death [is better] than the day of one’s birth” in Eccl. 7:1. So now if you wish to honor these two men, you could so something in memory of them on Dec. 14th and Apr. 15th.
In honor of President’s Day, though, I simply wish to share with you my favorite quotes from these two presidents that shows something of their personal beliefs about God.
“It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.” George Washington
” I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this Book.” Abraham Lincoln
Happy President’s Day!
