Remember God’s Benefits
Remember God’s Benefits
It is possible to totally forget God’s benefits to us. David told his soul to remember God’s benefits. Many times God’s word cautions us to remember, to remember, to remember. God knows how easy it is for us humans to forget.
What are benefits?
Benefits are any act of kindness or favors conferred and whatever contributes to promote prosperity and personal happiness. The Hebrew word used in Psalm 103 (quoted below) is also translated as reward or recompense.
Some of God’s benefits.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Ps. 103: 2-5 KJV
God forgives all your iniquities.
All your iniquities are forgiven. Nothing you’ve done is not forgiven. Even iniquities that you can’t remember doing, that you’ve committed by omission or ones that you’ve not even done yet—they are all forgiven [pardoned, treated as not guilty].
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Eph. 1:7 KJV
God heals all your diseases.
There are not any diseases of yours that God does not heal [all is all]. Healing is part of the atonement of Christ.
…by whose [Christ v. 21] stripes ye were healed. 1 Pet 2:24
God redeems your life from destruction.
In whom we have redemption through his blood…Col 1:14 KJV
…the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction… Phil. 3:18-19 KJV
God crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.
God crowns (encircles, compasses or surrounds you) with lovingkindness (kindness, mercy, favor) and tender mercies (compassion, love).
For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass [crown] him as with a shield. Ps. 5:12 KJV
…for he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass [crown] him about. Ps. 32:10 KJV
God satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
…God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. 1 Tim. 6:17 KJV
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father… Jam. 1:17
