Remembering Memorial Day
Remembering Memorial Day
In remembering Memorial Day this year, let us commemorate all the men and women who have died while in military service to the United States. We all owe them a great debt of gratitude as they lost their lives in protection of ours.
How to Celebrate
- decorate soldier’s graves with flowers or flags
- attend a Memorial Day parade
- visit a memorial, military cemetery or battlefield
- fly your U.S. flag at half-mast until noon
I want to personally thank all those who have been in the military in service to our nation, and for those family members who have lost someone while they were serving in the military.
And for all those that serve or have served in the military and their families I leave you with this prayer:
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
I ask you to help us to remember our fallen servicemen and women and their families this Memorial Day in such as way that is honoring to them and to You.
Please protect all those in our military with your sheltering grace and strong arms. Give them courage to face each day and give them strength to trust in You more. May they feel Your Presence and be comforted by it.
And for the families of our troops, I ask for all of your heavenly blessings to fill their lives. Give them great peace and comfort and help to trust that You will protect their loved ones.
I ask that you help us, as ordinary citizens, to be diligent to pray for our troops each and every time you bring them to our mind.
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
