Ten Steps to a Closer Walk with God by David M. Showers
Ten Steps to a Closer Walk with God by David M. Showers
I loved the conversational style of writing in this book which made it very easy to read. It also seemed very practical with actual suggestions of things to do and a suggested prayer to pray for each step.
The author included illustrative stories to help make his points, humorous tidbits here and there, and plenty of scriptures liberally sprinkled throughout.
There is sure to be something here for everyone to help them in their walk with God. I most liked the chapter on step number seven on making yourself available to God. That was the point I most needed to hear.
More than the content though, I was able to get a real feel for the author’s character. I really appreciated his humility and transparency with his own flaws, in times that he blew it and in places that are still in process. I could also tell that this author has a real relationship with God and not merely “religion”. This made the book extremely refreshing and even a true pleasure to read.
