The Importance of Wisdom
The Importance of Wisdom
Why is wisdom even important?
Why would you want to acquire it?
What does the Bible say it’s worth?
The Worth of Wisdom
No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom [is] above rubies. Job 28:18 KJV
How much better [is it] to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! Pro 16:16 KJV
Then said I, Wisdom [is] better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom [is] despised, and his words are not heard. Ecc 9: 16 KJV
Wisdom [is] better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good. Ecc 9:16-18 KJV
Here we see that according to God’s Word wisdom is worth more than rubies, more than gold and is better than strength or weapons of war.
Benefit of Getting Wisdom
Happy [is] the man [that] findeth wisdom, and the man [that] getteth understanding. Pro 3:13 KJV
One benefit clearly mentioned in scripture is that we will be “happy”, which is the word for “blessed”. Who doesn’t want to be blessed?
Importance of Wisdom
Wisdom [is] the principal thing; [therefore] get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Pro 4:7 KJV
Wisdom is the “principal” thing—it is the most important thing. If it is the most important thing then we should be desiring it and going after it! Shouldn’t this important thing be occupying at least some of your precious time?
